Minecraft Caves & Cliffs Part 2 update arrives on November 30

Mojang has announced that the next update for Minecraft entitled Caves and Cliffs Part 2, will launch on November 30.

Following on from the first half back in June, the latest additions give the game’s mountain and cave terrains a makeover. The new terrain generation tweaks behind the scenes should result in higher peaks, and larger ore veins in the world. There’s also the new light source candles that can add a rustic touch to your lighting options.

However, some new features planned for this update haven’t quite made it in yet. The update post notes that things like archaeology, bundles and goat horns have been put on hold for the time being. However, the team promise to add them “when we’re able to add them in the best possible way”.

This year’s major Minecraft update has been a bit of an odd one. Not least, thanks to the global pandemic effecting development. The Caves and Cliffs update was announced to be splitting into two parts back in April. Part one launched back in June, and included new mobs like goats and glow squid.

Minecraft gets its Caves and Cliffs Part 2 update for both the Bedrock and Java Editions of the game on November 3o.  Next year’s update was revealed as The Wild back during Minecon in October.
