Deathloop gets second update including NPC and Invasion tweaks, out now

Bethesda and Arkane Studios have released a new update for time twisting puzzle shooter, Deathloop.

It’s the second major update for the game since it released back in September. Among the many tweaks and changes, players will find improvements to NPCs and the game’s PvP Invasion mode. For example, NPC’s should now react better to stimuli such as missed headshots and fellow NPCs being assassinated close by. Those NPCs should also be able to now deduce the direction a grenade was thrown from, which seems pretty handy for their continued survival.

Meanwhile, over in Invasion mode Colt going AFK players or lingering too long in the tunnel will now cause him to get tagged and the tunnel doors to open. If he disconnects, Juilanna will now automatically get the win. Presumably, this should help discourage unsportsman-like behaviour from the Colts out there.  Antennas now also take longer to hack, and there’s a higher chance you’ll invade friends when you’re both online. Lovely stuff.

Away from that, there’s some handy accessibility improvements in this Deathloop update. This includes better control remapping options and the ability to invert the sticks. There’s also UI improvements, including how it explains the Residuum mechanic on death. Of course there’s also a few pesky crashes fixed as well.

Finally, there’s a few specific gameplay changes as well as graphical and audio fixes. And on top of all of this, Bethesda has squished some pesky achievement related bugs too. The game itself is very good, as our Josh can attest in his review.
